Studio · Personal
The cleared imaging platform, free on your desk.
Medivis Studio is free for verified healthcare professionals. Segment scans, build 3D models, and review them in augmented reality — on your own Windows or Mac. The same cleared platform formerly known as SurgicalAR.

Features
From DICOM to surgical plan.
Studio is the rebrand of SurgicalAR — the same FDA, CE, and KSFDA cleared platform. Its feature set covers the full pre-operative visualization workflow, from loading a study to delivering a shareable plan to the OR.

Core engine
High-fidelity volume rendering
Visualize CT and MRI studies as high-fidelity volumetric images — with depth, density, and anatomical transparency flat windowed images cannot convey. Transfer functions and lighting tune per clinical context.
Segmentation
Organ & structure segmentation
Delineate anatomical structures from DICOM volumes with manual, semi-automatic, and — where available — real-time tools. Segmentations save to the session and sync via Medivis Cloud.
3D reconstruction
3D models from patient imaging
Convert segmented structures into navigable, patient-specific 3D models derived directly from the study. Inspect from any angle, with independent visibility per structure.
Renderings
Photorealistic renderings
Generate photorealistic renders of volumetric anatomy for case review, planning, and communication — quality appropriate for surgical and procedural planning.
Viewing
Multi-planar reconstruction
Navigate axial, sagittal, coronal, and oblique MPR planes alongside the 3D view. Draggable reference lines link every plane so spatial context is never lost.
Measurement
Precision measurement & annotation
Distance, angle, and volumetric region-of-interest tools built for planning accuracy. Annotations tie to the study and session and travel with anyone you share the case with.
Every segmentation, model, and annotation syncs to your account via Medivis Cloud — the case you build at your desk loads in the OR.
Maia · the Medivis AI assistant
One assistant, included with Studio.
Maia is the Medivis AI agent — a shipped feature of Studio. It handles onboarding, support, voice and text app commands, and in-flow feedback, with one consistent persona everywhere you use Studio.
Maia does
- Onboarding & first-run guidance
- Customer support & troubleshooting
- Voice & text commands — navigate, open views, non-clinical actions
- Capture feature requests & bug reports in-flow
Maia does not
- Clinical decision-making
- Diagnostic image interpretation
- Image measurement, characterization, or annotation
- Clinical recommendations or care advice
Maia is a productivity and support assistant, not a clinical tool. It does not interpret diagnostic images or make clinical decisions — that boundary is deliberate and reinforced on every surface.
Hardware add-ons
Software-first. Optional add-ons only.
Studio runs on the Windows or Mac you already have — no proprietary hardware required. Two optional add-on categories extend specific capabilities: localizers and references.
Localizers
Physical localizers let Studio spatially register patient anatomy within a real-world coordinate frame — for planning workflows where registration accuracy matters.
References
Reference markers provide fixed spatial anchors Studio tracks to maintain registration accuracy. Paired with localizers for full spatial workflows.
Looking for workstations, trays, or arrays? Those are intraoperative hardware under Navigation — Systems & hardware, not Studio add-ons.
Access & eligibility
Free for verified healthcare professionals.
Studio is a cleared visualization platform, indicated under 510(k) K190764 for use by qualified healthcare professionals. Attesting to that is what the clearance turns on — it takes a moment, the download starts straight away, and the record is kept against the exact build you take.
Attestation
Confirm your name, your work email and your role — surgeon, radiologist, non-radiology specialist, physician or technologist — and attest that you are a qualified healthcare professional. No documents to upload, no review to wait on. The download begins immediately.
NPI
US-licensed practitioners can add an NPI, checked live against the CMS NPPES registry. It is never required — practitioners outside the US have none — but it strengthens the record and speeds things up if you later ask about a trial or an enterprise deployment.
